4 P’s

Price, Promotion (advertising, how to draw attention to the product), Product (setting the spec), and Placement (where and often how it will be sold).

Segment

A sub-group of consumers in a market which share a set of particular characteristics; e.g. users age 40-45 with an income over $100k/yr.

Demographics

Quantifiable data about a particular a particular population of people, e.g. ages, income, etc; data about people in the market.

Applied Research

Research that is aimed at solving a real-world problem; much more commercially and pragmatically focused research.

Innovation
